Biography

John Borrack born Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 1933. Studied Melbourne Teachers College, R.M.I.T. Fellowship Diploma of Fine Art, R.M.I.T. (Painting and Drawing).

Studied and painted extensively in France, Spain, U.K., Italy 1964, 1975, 1982, 1999, and USA 1993, 1995. Lectured in Painting and Drawing at Melbourne State College (University of Melbourne) 1969 to 1982. Since 1982 has painted full time. Works in watercolour, gouache and oil. Member of Australian Watercolour Institute.

Exhibitions

Since 1958, over 60 solo exhibitions at major galleries throughout Australia including Australian Galleries, Melbourne; Greythorn Galleries, Melbourne; Wagner Gallery, Sydney; Town Gallery and Adrian Slinger Galleries, Brisbane; Huntly Gallery, A.C.T.; Barry Newton Galleries and David Dridan Galleries of Clarendon and Adelaide, S.A.; Stafford Studios, Perth; and Framed Gallery, Darwin.  Solo exhibitions at Regional Galleries in Victoria include Hamilton, Horsham, Morwell, Warrnambool and a major Survey Exhibition at Benalla, 1987.  Retrospective Exhibition: 1956 - 1996 at City of Whittlesea Gallery, 1996.

Participated in many group exhibitions in Australia, U.K., Japan, Hong Kong and U.S.A.
